About Semaglutide
During your first visit, our doctor will review your medical history and health goals. Often, lab work is required, and they’ll send an order to your preferred lab. Once your results are available, our doctor will review them with you and discuss treatment options. If medication is prescribed, it will be given to you in syringe form.
Semaglutide, or Semashots, is a medication for chronic weight management used in conjunction with diet and exercise. When combined with lifestyle changes, this weight loss drug can be effective in helping patients lose excess weight. It comes in the form of a weekly semaglutide injection. Semaglutide is an under-the-skin, self-administered injectable prescription medication for chronic weight management. When used in tandem with a reduced-calorie diet and increased exercise has been proven successful. It is for patients with either:
- A body mass index (BMI) of 30 kg/m2 or greater
- A BMI of 27 kg/m2 or greater with at least one weight-related ailment such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea, or others.
